Specificity and historical notes

Already in the early eighteenth century, with the Grand Duke's calls for tenders, some territorial groups were identified and protected from fraud, in which wines particularly appreciated on the market were produced. Subsequently, the Accademia dei Georgofili, founded in Florence in 1753, considerably developed the wine business in the area and achieved such a reputation that three presidents of the United States took part: Jefferson, Madison and Monroe
