Bianco Capena

The "Bianco Capena" Protected Designation of Origin includes two types of wine: basic white and superiore.


Grapes

"Bianco Capena" wines are composed of Malvasia (Candida, Lazio and Toscana), absolute or combined, up to a maximum of 55%, Trebbiano (Tuscan and yellow), absolute or combined, up to a maximum of 25%; the grapes of the Bellone and Bombino vines, absolute or combined, may contribute up to a maximum of 20%.


Physicochemical and Organoleptic properties

"Bianco Capena" wines (minimum total alcoholic strength by volume 11% vol. the base and 12% the Superiore) have a straw yellow color more or less intense, the smell is slightly aromatic, fine and characteristic, the flavor is dry or slightly sweet, characteristic and pleasant.


Grape production area

The production area "Bianco Capena" wines is located in the province of Rome, north of the capital, in a hilly area between the Tevere Valley and the volcanic complex Sabatino. The soils on which viticulture takes place are influenced by river and volcanic depositions, which determine a wide variety of soils.


Specificity and historical notes

The wine culture in the area of "Bianco Capena" dates back to Etruscan times. The link with the territory is therefore profound. The ancient tradition, the presence of the river and a volcanic complex, which make the environment variable, combine to make these wines products of high value.
